40-50% of the most popular searches today have parasite pages ranking for key terms, often dominated by the same high authority sites on SERPs. While this strategy can deliver quick results and act as a shortcut to rankings, it comes with significant drawbacks, including reputational damage and erosion of user trust. Policy changes or algorithmic updates by host platforms can further disrupt its effectiveness, compounded by a lack of control over the page's longevity. Moreover, with advancements in AI and recent Google updates, content must be managed strategically, requiring more backlinks and frequent updates. This session will debate the pros and cons of parasite SEO, its viability as a long-term strategy for affiliates, and the risks versus ROI for short- and long-term gains.

• Is the strategy effective? Is this a tactic best used cautiously and as part of a broader, more sustainable SEO approach or can it be used in isolation?
• What kind of legal and compliance issues can occur? Is it worth the hassle? Do older parasite pages remain in SERPs over time? Will this strategy continue to work in 2025-26 as more affiliates start using it?
• Is the lack of control over third-party website a major issue or one that can be overlooked given the outsized returns? How can you reduce its vulnerability to algorithms and updates?
